Manganese sulfate,at room temperature it is pale pink monoclinic fine crystals. It is soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, when be heated to above 200℃, it begins to lose crystal water, it loses most of crystal water at about 280℃, it turns into anhydrous salt melt at 700℃, it begins to decompose and release sulfur trioxide, sulfur dioxide or oxygen at 850℃. Manganese is element of group Ⅶ periodic table, manganese is not found in nature free state, generally it is in the form of compounds present in animals and plants. After Orent and Kemmer has found animals Manganese is an essential trace element, a large number of studies have shown that manganese has an important nutritional role in the animal organism. It is important part of arginine kinase, proline peptidase, enzyme pyruvate Jun, manganese ions also has the effect of activating a variety of enzymes, it is activator of part of hydrolase, enzyme off the slope, phosphorylase, nuclear enzyme. Manganese can promote growth, enhance immunity and improve reproductive performance and so on. Manganese sulfate is one of important trace element fertilizer, it can be used as base fertilizer, seed soaking, seed dressing, fertilizer and foliar spray, it can promote the growth of crops to increase production. In animal husbandry and feed industry, it can be used as feed additives, livestock and poultry can be well-developed, and it has fattening effect. It is also driers of processing paint, ink; it is raw material of Tu manganese; it is used as catalyst of synthesis of fatty acids; it is also used in papermaking, ceramics, printing and dyeing, ore flotation; it is raw material of electrolytic manganese production and the manufacture of other manganese salts.
