Chemical Properties clear colorless to yellow liquid
General Description Colorless liquid with an odor of turpentine. Flash point 101°F. Floats on water.
Air & Water Reactions Flammable. Insoluble in water.
Reactivity Profile 5-ETHYLIDENE-2-NORBORNENE may react vigorously with strong oxidizing agents. May react exothermically with reducing agents to release hydrogen gas. In the presence of various catalysts (such as acids) or initiators, may undergo exothermic addition polymerization reactions.
Health Hazard Inhalation of vapors causes headache, confusion, and respiratory distress. Ingestion causes irritation of entire digestive system. Aspiration causes severe pneumonia. Contact with liquid causes irritation of eyes and skin.
